In the morning the wind had calmed down but the waves had not. The sails slammed back and forth nearly ineffectually when the sharp waves rocked us. In the end we had to give up, start the engine and head to the Netherlands for the night.
Oudeschild harbor is small, shallow and very neat. A small tug kept plowing the harbor floor and entrance lane. Otherwise the tidal currents would pile unpredictable hills on the bottom.
